Joseph Wicks tenor
Joseph began his musical education as a chorister (later Bishop’s Chorister) at Salisbury Cathedral under Simon Lole and David Halls. Moving to Lancing College as a Walter Stanton Music Scholar, he was appointed Sixth Form Organ Scholar and obtained his Associateship of the Royal College of Organists at the age of 17. Joseph is now reading Music at Cambridge University, whilst being Organ Scholar at St John’s College, and is taught the organ by Gordon Stewart. Alongside his organ-playing career, Joseph sings tenor in the Gesualdo Six. He is a graduate of the renowned Genesis Sixteen training scheme for young singers, performing on BBC Radio 3’s In Tune and Choral Evensong. He currently studies with David Lowe in Cambridge, and has recently become Musical Director of the Gentlemen of St John’s. Future ambitions include founding and conducting his own choir.
