Patrick Dunachie countertenor
Patrick’s singing career began as a chorister in Hereford Cathedral Choir, returning for two years as a temporary lay clerk whilst still at school. Currently a choral scholar at King’s College, Cambridge, studying for a degree in Music, he is taught by Russell Smythe and has participated in several masterclasses with Andreas Scholl. Solo work has included a small solo in a BBC Proms performance of Bernstein’s Mass on Radio 3 and BBC Four, and Bach’s St John Passion with the choir of Selwyn College, Cambridge at St John’s Smith Square. He will shortly be performing the role of Angel in Jonathan Dove’s opera Tobias and the Angel for Cambridge University Opera Society. Patrick has produced performing editions of 16th century English church music for use by His Majesty’s Sackbutts and Cornetts, King's College Choir, Ex Cathedra and Carolyn Sampson. He is a keen graphic designer having designed several websites, and is also an amateur magician, once belonging to the Junior Magic Circle.
